O registro de uma população de aracnídeos da Ordem Schizomida em uma caverna bem preservada no Parque Estadual de Terra Ronca, Goiás, foi publicado no periódico Check List.
Os Schizomida são um grupo de aracnídeos de pequeno tamanho e relativamente raros.
O trabalho, de autoria de Jonas Eduardo Gallão e Maria Elina Bichuette do Laboratório de Estudos Subterrâneos da UFSCar (LES – UFSCar) e Alessandro Giupponi registra uma espécie introduzida no Brasil (Stenochrus portoricensis) em caverna.
Além de representar o primeiro registro para o estado de Goiás, também é o primeiro para cavernas no Brasil e em ambiente não degradado. Fato interessante.
Abstract
New records of Stenochrus portoricensis Chamberlin, 1922 are given, the first south-american record in caves and the first to Goiás state in the Cerrado phytogeographical domain. Records of nine specimens (all females) in isolated regions from surface environment and deep zones in the cave suggest the status of troglophile (facultative cave-dwelling organisms) to this species. All specimens were found in places well preserved, without anthropization, differently from the observed to other records of the species in Brazil. Finally, we reinforce the need of replications on inventory studies of subterranean fauna.
